I was falling in love with Charles Mingus around this time, but this music has nothing at all to do with his! I think we were just trying to create a sort of bluesman alter ego name. It was a little harder than the band I had a few years earlier. I was the only guitar player in it, so I got to sing and rock. We had fun – especially on the Stones-influenced “We.” \n
