The fantastic jazz chanteuse, Mary Stallings, has recorded a song written by pianist Eric Reed and myself for her new album, “Don’t Look Back.”
I felt a little like Willie Dixon writing this. I got her story from conversations with Eric and tried to write from her perspective. It’s a love song to music over Eric’s classic melody. I’d heard him play the instrumental version and was so charmed by it that I asked if I could write the lyric. After getting hearing more about Mary, the direction was set. I hope you enjoy it!
You can buy it on iTunes or from your favorite shop. HighNote is the label.
